AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems has finally confirmed that he will be back in the country next week to take charge of things.

In a statement posted across his social media platforms, the Belgian tactician termed as ‘fake’ all reports indicating that he has ditched Ingwe.

“Tired of rumors, fake news. l am a man of my word and despite difficult times for the club , l will be back next week to help INGWE to become the flagship club of the country again. Tuwe pamoja kufanikisha lengo hili ! See you very soon!” he posted.

Aussems was recently linked with a move to Rwandan side Police FC as doubts kept growing over his future at AFC Leopards.

With the financial problems at Leopards, a number of the club’s fans believed that he might have decided to seek greener pastures elsewhere.

His latest statement will come as a reprieve to AFC Leopards’ fans who have witnessed many top players leave their club in recent weeks.

The club begins its league campaign with a match against Champions Tusker FC on Sunday, September 26, 2021, a match that Aussems will most likely miss.

Games against KCB, Gor Mahia, Bandari and Ulinzi Stars will then follow.
