Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti believes his side can lift their first Premier League after a fine start to the season.

City Stars beat Wazito 3-1 on Friday and have now recorded 2 wins on the bounce after suffering defeat in their first game of the season.

Speaking to the media after the latest win, Muyoti hailed his charges for putting in a great show especially in the second half to see off Wazito.

City Stars opened the scoring through Kenedy Vidic Onyango in the 76th minute before Timothy Babu Ouma got his side’s second just two minutes later.

Wazito then pulled one back through a Michael Owino strike before Rodgers Okumu ensured that Muyoti grabbed all the three points in style.

“I’m so much impressed with today’s outcome. We seemed to have lost it in the first half but managed to collect ourselves in the dying minutes of the second half,” Muyoti told The Star.

“During our last league match, we identified some key areas to improve on and from today’s match, I must say it was quite obvious we successfully made an effort to put in a far much better performance.”

“We have worked hard to sharpen our striking force and if we continue to play especially the way we did in the second half, then we are surely on our way to a pleasant surprise this season,” he added.

With the win, Nairobi City Stars ended a streak of six straight league losses to Wazito.

City Stars are currently ranked 5th on 6 points while Wazito are 15th on 1 point after a winless start to the season.
