Tusker head coach Robert Matano has said that his side will give their all to lift the Betking Premier League.
Matano’s sentiments came after his team was bundled out of the FKF Betway Cup by AFC Leopards.
According to Matano, his side now have a higher chance of becoming league champions with the cup competition now over and done with.
“We have been travelling a lot and playing so many matches. With the cup out of the way, we can now concentrate on winning the league. That is the only thing remaining for us and we want to give it our all and our best,” he said.
“Sometimes we have been playing four matches in a week and even fatigue had started setting in. Now we will have time to recover before our next match” he added.
A 33rd minute goal from the spot by Isaac Kipyegon was enough for AFC Leopards to match to the Semis but Tusker still have a chance at the league title. They are currently top of the league standings on 38 points.
Tusker FC emphatically beat a helpless Vihiga United 4-0 last time out in the Premier League.
Goals from Henry Meja, Kevin ‘Kepha’ Okoth, Chris Onyango and Rodgers Aloro helped Tusker storm back to the top of the FKFPL league standings, two points above 2nd and 3rd placed KCB and AFC Leopards.
