FKFPL side Nairobi City Stars have parted ways with head coach Sanjin Alagić.
The Bosnian leaves the club on mutual consent just hours after guiding them to a 1-1 draw against defending champions at the Ruaraka grounds, a result that leaves ‘Simba Wa Nairobi’ 7th on the league standings.
City Stars CEO Patrick Korir confirmed the Bosnian’s exit.
“He requested that we allow him to go home. He has some personal issues that he needs to handle and we half-heartedly had to let him go. We tried to convince him to continue until at least the end of the month but he requested that we release him after today’s game. Coach Sanjin has been a top professional during his time with us and we can only wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Korir as quoted by Mozzart Sport.
Sanjin joined Nairobi City Stars in 2019 and guided the team back to the FKF Premier League in 2020 after four years in the National Super League (NSL).
