Sheffield United could move for Barnsley star, Clarke Oduor, as Chris Wilder continues to assess his options before the start of the new season, reports Sheffield United News.

According to Football Insider, Oduor has caught the attention of the Blades management after an excellent campaign at Oakwell in which he finished with a big flourish.

Indeed, it was Oduor who scored the vital goal for the Reds against Brentford as they somehow managed to scrape their way to Championship safety in the final few games of the campaign.

But the Blades could prove a tempting move for the 21-year-old, who is capable of playing anywhere down the left-hand side and can also fill in midfield if needed. That, of course, would be a huge benefit to United given the fluent 3-5-2 formation Wilder employs.

Born in Kenya, Oduor is yet to appear for his nation but qualifies for England, too.

According to Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, the blades have already made their big signing in Aaron Ramsdale (£20m) and will be looking more for squad enhancements from now on. Oduor fits the billing.

Should a move for Oduor materialize, he will become just the second Kenyan to grace the EPL after Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama who played for Southampton and Tottenham before moving to MLS side Montreal Impact.
