Wazito FC has appointed Nicholas Muyoti as the club’s new head coach. The former Kenyan international joins Wazito from Kakamega Homeboyz and takes over from Fred Ambani who was shown the door together with his backroom staff.

Apart from Muyoti, Wazito has also appointed Jeff Odongo as the new assistant coach. Odongo has previously had stints at Kisumu All Starts and Muhoroni Youth in the same capacity. He takes over from Salim Babu.

Former Harambee Stars goalkeeper Matthew Ottamax has been appointed as the keeper trainer and takes over from Elias Otieno.

The three are expected to help change the fortunes of Wazito this season after a not so convincing show last season.

Muyoti is an experienced coach and had a great run with Kakamega Homeboyz last season. He helped the club finish second. He has also had stints at Thika United, Oserian and Nzoia Sugar as head coach. He served AFC Leopards as assistant coach.

Matthew Ottamax is not a new name in the Kenyan football circles. Also known as ‘Magical hands’, he is considered as one of the best goalkeepers to ever grace the Kenyan football scene. His experience between the sticks will be of great value to Wazito’s custodians.

An official announcement of the appointments by the club is expected soon.
