Kenyan League champions Gor Mahia will take on Division One side Congo Boys in a rescheduled Betway Cup round 64 match at the Mbaraki Grounds in Mombasa on Sunday, May 23.

The winner of the match will take on CUSCO in the round of 32 fixtures set to be played on June 1, and June 2, 2021. Winners in this round will then proceed to the round of 16 action that will be played on June 5, and June 6, 2021.

The remaining teams will proceed to the quarterfinals that will be held on June 9, and June 10, 2021 with the semifinals following on June 12, and June 13, 2021.

Gor Mahia named a strong travelling squad for the match as they aim to make light work of the oldest team from Mombasa.

The Betway Cup provides Gor Mahia with another shot at Silverware after a mixed start to their FKFPL campaign.

Despite being favourites, Congo Boys assistant coach Abdul Nasser Kassim promised that his boys will be brave when they face Gor and the defending Kenyan champions should not expect a walk in the park.

“We are ready and have nothing to lose so let them (Gor) come and beat us if they can,” Kassim told Citizen Digital.

Should Gor Mahia see off Congo Boyz and proceed to win the cup, they will represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
