Kariobangi Sharks hit-man Eric Kapaito was the biggest winner of the night at the FKFPL Awards as he won the Golden Boot Award and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Kapaito had a stellar campaign that saw him bag 24 goals for Sharks with this helping him win the highly coveted awards. He also provided 5 assists during the 2020/21 season.
He beat Tusker’s Henry Meja and Eugene Asike, Sofapaka’s Lawrence Juma and Elvis Rupia of AFC Leopards to the award.
Kapaito takes home 1 million Kenyan shillings and a 55 inch TV for becoming MVP.
For bagging the golden boot, he takes home Kshs. 500,000 and also wins a 2 night getaway at the Maasai Mara.
Kapaito wins the MVP award for the second time after winning it in 2018.
“It’s a great feeling. It has been a great season and I just want to thank the almighty. The second MVP award is the best for me as I did it with 24 goals” said Kapaito.
“My talent motivates me a lot. These awards show that I have been working hard. Nothing comes without putting in hard work. I played a lot of games and my team also helped me a lot ” he added.
“As a player you really need to play at the top level. I hope I get a good team outside for me to also experience what other players are experiencing out there”.
