Kariobangi Sharks recorded the biggest win of matchweek one in the Football Kenya Premier League (FKFPL) after beating Wazito FC 4-0 at the Kasarani Stadium.
Sharks first scored through Dan Sakari in the 34th minute before captain Eric Kapaito took charge of things to bag a brace in the 61st and 77th minute. The William Muluya led side then put the last nail on Wazito’s coffin in the 88th minute through Julius Masaba.
The huge win see Sharks climb to the top of the League standings while Wazito are rocked bottom.
Bankers KCB saw debutants Derrick Otanga and Henry Onyango score a goal a piece as they beat Posta Rangers 3-0 in Narok. Enock Agwanda added the 3rd goal for the Zedekiah Otieno coached side.
Elsewhere, newbies Nairobi City Stars saw off Nzoia Sugar 2-0 in a match played at the Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok.
City Stars or ‘Simba Wa Nairobi’ scored through Mukki kimani (16) and Oliver Maloba (18).
In Kisumu, Western Stima and newbies Bidco United played to a 0-0 draw.
Following matchweek one, Kariobangi Sharks, KCB and Nairobi City Stars make the top 3. AFC Leopards, Bandari FC and Kakamega Homeboyz close the top 6 after beating Tusker FC, Sofapaka FC and Vihiga United respectively on Saturday.
Gor Mahia are yet to play and will face ZOO Fc in their first game of the season.
Ulinzi Stars and Mathare United are the other sides yet to taste league action this season.
