Wazito FC head coach Francis Kimanzi believes his side can still turn things around despite a poor start to the season.
Wazito are winless after three games and only have 1 point to show for it. The team drew 1-1 with FKFPL newbies Talanta FC in their first match of the season before losing 1-0 to Kakamega Homeboyz in the second match.
Matchday three was even worse as they went down 3-1 to Nairobi City Stars at the Thika Stadium.
Kimanzi has now promised to right the wrongs and work with his team in search of better results.
“It’s still too early to start giving up. This is only our third match of the season and the competition isn’t even a quarter way through. We are going back to the drawing board to amend the weak areas,” said Kimanzi after the Nairobi City Stars match.
“My players lost concentration in the last 15 minutes and we were punished by our opponents. As much as we attacked, we also have to work on our defence. I’m optimistic we will have a turnaround in the coming matches and get positive results” he added.
Wazito are ranked 15th and will next take on Kariobangi Sharks. A clash with defending champions will then follow after which they will face bankers KCB. Other tough matches against Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will follow in what may turn out to be a very decisive period for Francis Kimanzi as far as his future at the club is concerned.
