The exodus from Gor Mahia is far from over with the club’s goalkeeper Gad Mathews the latest to cast doubts on his future with the record Kenyan champions.
The former Kisumu All Stars man was Gor Mahia’s number one during the 2020/21 season and put in some great performances that saw him help K’Ogallo bag the FKF Cup and in the process book a ticket to the CAF Confederations cup.
The custodian is however weighing up his options heading into the new season and has now revealed that he has received offers from a number of FKFPL clubs and an unnamed club in Sweden.
Speaking to the Star, Gad confirmed getting the offers but maintained that he is in no rash to make a decision.
“I’ve already received calls from top-tier clubs who expressed genuine interest in securing my signature. Other offers have come from as far as Sweden, but to be honest, I don’t want to make a rash decision that I might regret later,” he said.
“I want to take enough time rummaging through the deals and seeking opinion from people who are more familiar with this kind of business.
The 25 year old stated that he is still a Gor Mahia player and that talks are even on for him to extend his contract but won’t think twice about leaving if his growing concerns are not addressed.
“There is no doubt about it. I’ve already been approached by quite a number of clubs and I might as well consider jumping ship if my concerns are not addressed promptly.
“We have already opened talks about extending my contract with Gor Mahia and, depending on what they offer, I may decide to hang on” he said.
