Gor Mahia FC chairman Ambrose Rachier on Tuesday November 22, hosted sports lawyer and Mesut Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut at the club’s offices for a meeting.

According to Rachier, the meeting with Sogut marks the beginning of a great partnership between Gor and the renowned football agent. This will help enhance the scouting of young talents and help come up with better ways to represent players through agents.

“This is the beginning of a partnership between him, his organization and ourselves. We are in the process of discussing in what way he could support our youth team,” said Rachier as quoted by Mozzart Sports.

“We are concerned about the development of football in this country. We have a lot of talent in the country and what we have been suffering from is a lack of development. It will be important for the exposure of our players outside our jurisdiction,” he added.

Dr Sogut presented playing kits and equipment to the Gor Mahia youth team at Camp Toyoyo in Jericho, Nairobi before proceeding to a talk on players agents at Hemingway’s hotel, Karen.

According to Rachier, there are also plans to schedule a friendly game between Gor Mahia and Fernerbahce, Mesut Ozil’s current club in Turkey.

Dr Sogut, had recently denied reports linking Mesut Ozil with Fernerbahce exit, with several Turkish media outlets alleging that the 33-year-old midfielder wanted to leave the club.

“It’s absolutely false that Mesut called me on Thursday at half –time in the game to ask me to look for a club. Mesut has a contract until 2024 and his plan at Fernerbahce is not just to see out his contract . He wants to have an important role after his contract at the club.” Sogut said as quoted by Fanatik.
