Tusker FC striker Henry Meja has been a revelation this season. With 7 goals already in the Betking Premier League, the former Kakamega High School striker is not setting any targets.
Brewers head coach Robert Matano gave him a target of 10 goals but with 7 in just 12 games, he is surely set to hit great numbers by the time the season comes to an end.
Mejja has revealed that his aim is to score as many goals as possible.
“I want to score as many as I can, I do not have any targets. I just want to see how far I can go. If I manage to score in each and every game that will make me happy,” he said.
Meja joined Tusker in January 2020 after sitting for his KCPE exams. His great performances saw him named Tusker’s best player of January.
“I feel really happy to get this award,” said Mejja after getting the award back in January.
“I couldn’t have done it without the help of my teammates and the technical bench and I thank them for that. I have been working hard in training and the results have been visible on the pitch.
“Now I need to work harder because I have set the bar high and I need to maintain it.”
Mejja will be out to add to his tally when Tusker take on millers Nzoia Sugar on Tuesday at the Kasarani stadium from 3.00 PM. The Ruaraka based side currently leads the league standings with 29 points.
