The future of Gor Mahia head coach Steven Polack is now in doubt after he left the country for what the club termed as a ‘holiday’.
According to Gor’s Vice Chairman Francis Wasuna, the Englishman will be away for 10 days.
“The coach (Polack) requested for some days off and we gave him 10 days and he will be travelling tonight to Finland,”said Wasuna.
“The plan is to have him back after 10 days but we are not sure of any quarantine programs the other end. If it happens and his 10 days are interfered with, then an extension of his stay in Finland might be necessary, “added the Vice-Chairman.
It remains to be seen if Polack will return to the country of if he will go the Dylan Kerr and Hassan Oktay way. Both coaches left the country for various personal reasons but never returned.
Word is that ex K’Ogallo coach Jose ‘Ze Maria’ Fereira could a return to the green army and with Pollack now out of the country, many believe that the Brazilian who likened coaching Gor Mahia to Flamengo or Corinthians might just take charge of things.
Ze Maria succeeded Frank Nuttall, who had led K’Ogalo to the 2015 KPL title without losing a single match, but resigned in 2017 abruptly before joining KF Tirana in Albania.
He left Gor after winning the SportPesa Super Cup. The team was also top of the KPL table with 27 points.
Could we see hime return to Gor or will Polack come back to reclaim his position?
