FKFPL side Kakamega Homeboyz has parted ways with head coach Nicholas Muyoti.

Muyoti guided Homeboyz to a 6th place finish in the 2020/21 FKFPL season but now leaves the club with his place taken by former Bandari FC head coach Bernard Mwalala.

Mozzart Sports reports that Muyoti will move to a Tanzanian side.

“It is true Muyoti has left the team, he has an offer outside the country and he opted to take it. Bernard Mwalala takes over with immediate effect” a source told Mozzart.

Muyoti is an experienced coach and has had a great run with Kakamega Homeboyz in the Kenyan topflight. In his first season in charge, he led the team to a seventh-place finish.

In the 2019/2020 season, he guided the club to a 2nd place finish.

Before joining Homeboyz, he had stints at Thika United, Oserian and Nzoia Sugar as head coach. He has also previously served AFC Leopards as assistant coach.

Muyoti was last week declared coach of the month for July after guiding Homeboyz to five wins out of six games played during the month.

He beat Ulinzi Stars’ Benjamin Nyangweso and Wazito’s Francis Kimanzi to the award and with that took home a trophy and 50,000 shillings.
