Football Kenya Federation Nick Mwendwa has confirmed that the 2021/2022 season of the FKFPL will officially kick-off on September 25, 2021.
Speaking to the press after the FKFPL Awards Gala held at the Safari Park Hotel on Tuesday night, the football chief stated that the federation was working on having a smooth season and that the search for a new league sponsor is already on.

“In two weeks, on Saturday 25th September we are up again. We are working to get back to a more regular-season because injuries were a major problem due to the fixture congestion witnessed in the ended season where we had challenges posed by Covid-19. We also lost our sponsor but we are already working on getting a new one but that takes time,” said Mwendwa.
A number of clubs have been active in the transfer market as they try to bolster their squads ahead of the new season.
Champions Tusker FC have been the most active and mean business as they hope to defend the title next season.
The situation is however completely different at Gor Mahia who have failed to land any of their major targets.
