Tanzanian side Azam FC has confirmed the signing of Kenyan international and former Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna.
Muguna joins the Tanzanian moneybags on a two year deal.
“Azam FC are pleased to announce that we have signed Kenyan international Kenneth Muguna on a two-year deal from Gor Mahia” read a statement by Azam.
“Muguna is coming to add strength to our squad in the attacking zone in a deal that will keep him serving Azam FC until 2023”.
“The attacking midfielder is one of the biggest stars in Kenyan football, this season having been named the country’s FA Cup Player of the Year, which ended with his Gor Mahia team emerging champions of the tournament”.
Muguna is Azam’s fourth signing with the side having previously signed two Zambian stars, Charles Zulu, Rodgers Kola and left-back Edward Manyama.
According to Rotimi Fernandez who is Muguna’s agent, the ex-Gor Mahia captain will pocket between KSh500,000 to KSh600,000 a month at Azam.
In addition, he will receive a sign-on fee of between KSh3 million to KSh4 million.
Muguna relinquished his wages, both unpaid and those owed until October for him to move to Azam as a free agent.
