Swedish topflight side IF Elfsborg have confirmed the signing of Kenya’s Timothy Noor Ouma from FKFPL side Nairobi City Stars.

The 18-year old midfielder has signed a contract that runs through the 2026 season.

“It feels fantastic to be here! Everything is new to me – but the arena and the surroundings here are very good. Now I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates” said Ouma.

Ouma started his career at Laiser Hill Academy. He was then signed to Nairobi City Stars where in the past season he bagged 7 goals and registered 8 assists in 29 starts.

Ouma has two caps for Harambee Stars. He made his debut for the national team during the African qualifiers for the World Cup in a 1-1 draw against Uganda.

His second appearance came when Kenya beat Rwanda 2-1. It is here that he met with Joseph Okumu, former IF Elfsborg defender who told him about the club.

“I was called up at short notice in the U20s, but didn’t get the chance to play. That same year I got to play in the senior team instead, and there I played with Joseph Okumu. He told me about Elfsborg, and said that it is a good association and a good team to play in” said Ouma.

“I have seen a few matches Elfsborg played and think it looks good. I have always wanted to play in Europe and like the team’s style of play. I am impressed by the players, and think I will fit in well here” he added.

Timothy joins IF Elfsborg’s first team and will wear the number 16 shirt.
