FKFPL side Wazito has unveiled 5 more new signings ahead of the new season. The club has completed moves for Cliff Nyakeya, Eric Gichimu, Swaleh Hamisi, Amos Ekhalie and James Kinyanjui.
The talented winger joins Wazito from Egyptian side, FC Masr for an undisclosed period of time. He has previously featured for FKFPL side Mathare United.
He will wear jersey number 11.
“I am delighted to join Wazito FC because they are a team with great plans and I believe that they match my ambitions. I have played in the Kenyan league before and I know that it will not be a challenge settling in again. I also reunite with some of my former teammates but most importantly I get a chance to work with coach Kimanzi who I can say made me the player I am today. I am here to play my part in helping the team achieve its objectives” Nyakeya said after signing for Wazito.
Kinyanjui has joined Wazito from Mathare United on a long-term deal and will wear jersey number 8.
“I am happy to be here and I already feel at home because the atmosphere is good. I have also met old friends and I can say that I have already settled in. Wazito is a team with big plans and joining the team was an easy and logical decision, I also get the opportunity to work with coach Kimanzi again and I cannot wait to get started,” he said on joining the Francis Kimanzi coached side.
Central midfielder Amos Ekhalie has joined Wazito Finnish club, IFK Mariehamn and will wear jersey number 4.
“It feels good to be back in the Kenyan league, I have been away for long and this for me is a new and fresh challenge. I am excited about this and I am going to give my best to the team, I am here to win,” the midfielder said after his unveiling.
Defender Swaleh Hamisi has joined Wazito from National Super League (NSL) side, Coast Stima on a long-term deal.
“I am happy to be here. To join such a big team like Wazito is a blessing. I am here to earn my place which means I will have to work very hard because we have many talented defenders in the team. I am a fighter and I am ready for this, I can’t wait for the new season to kick off,” he said.
Striker Eric Gichimu has joined Wazito from FKFPL side Bidco United for an undisclosed period of time.
Gichimu scored eight league goals last season and hopes he can better his tally at Wazito
“I am happy to be here because I have always wanted to work with Coach Francis Kimanzi. He is one coach who develops players and I want to grow under him. When Wazito expressed interest in signing me, it was an easy decision for me to make. Last season I scored eight goals and this season I want to get double digits and hopefully hit the 20 goals mark,” he stated.
The five latest additions bring to Nine the number of new signings so far at Wazito. The club had earlier confirmed a deal for midfielder Tyson Otieno from Mathare United, Omar Zamu Adisa – From Bidco United, Bonface Owino – From Kayole Youth FC and Erickson Mulu Kivuva – From Malaga City FC, Spain
