FKFPL side Kakamega Homeboyz has revealed that it hopes to move to the summit of the topflight league standings after a round of five games.
The Nicholas Muyoti led side is currently 6th on the log after 3 games. Homeboyz has won one game, drew one and lost the other.
The Kakamega based side started their League campaign with a 1-0 win over neighbours Vihiga United in the ‘Ingo’ Derby before sharing the spoils with mailmen Posta Rangers in a 1-1 draw.
Their last game against KCB ended in a 2-0 defeat but the side still has it’s sights set on taking the FKFPL by storm.
Homeboyz have stated that they will soon take over top spot from archrivals AFC Leopards.
“We’re currently ranked 6th on the Betking Premier League log after 3 matches but we hope to replace AFC Leopards at the Top by the end of 5 matches!” the team shared on it’s social media platforms.
Homeboyz will next face defending champions Gor Mahia on Saturday 19, December, 2020, at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
Coach Muyoti is optimistic of getting a better result after the KCB setback.
“It was a disappointing result from my boys, we will have to go to the drawing board once again to work and come up with tactics enabling us to win our next game” he said.
Kakamega Homeboyz and AFC Leopards do not enjoy a rosy relationship and it therefore comes as no surprise that they have their eyes set on dislodging them from the top.
Ingwe has enjoyed a fine start to the season with three wins in three games. Elvis Rupia was on fire over the weekend as he bagged a hat-trick to help his side beat Sofapaka 3-0.
Can Homeboyz do better than Ingwe this season having finished above them last season?
