The 2022 much-anticipated CAF Gala Awards took place last night in Morocco, Rabat where the identities of the continent’s best football stars and team teams were awarded.

Lions of Teranga, Senegal, scoop the overall winner after winning five categories, namely, the National Team of the Year, Goal of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Male Player of the Year and the African Player of the Year awards.

Meanwhile, Nigerian and FC Barcelona starlet Asisat Oshoala won her fifth African Women Player of the Year award while Senegal football legend and Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane defended the 2022 Africa Male Player of the Year an award he first won in 2018.

The 2022 Africa Young Player of the Year award went to Ghana’s Evelyn Badu and the Inter-Club Player of the Year respectively.

For the very first time, the CAF Awards was shown live in Europe including Germany while in Africa, not less than 44 countries had an access to the CAF Awards on their Free to Air platforms.
