Former Gor Mahia captains Harun Shakava and Musa Mohammed might soon land at the Den. This is after AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda confirmed that the KPL giants are after the duo.

Apart from Shakava and Mohammed, Ingwe are also after Duncan Otieno, their former captain.

The trio are currently based at Zambian side Nkana FC with Musa Mohammed’s contract already out.

According to Shikanda, the three are facing uncertain futures at Nkana FC and AFC Leopards will be happy to take them in should a deal for the same be agreed.

“Shakava is a brilliant player, just like Musa and Otieno. We understand there has been some misunderstanding with their club. If all goes well the coaches will decide and we will eventually act accordingly,” said Shikanda.

Musa Mohammed’s agent, George Bwana has on his part confirmed that Nkana FC is going through turbulent times at the moment and a players exodus is expected.

“The club (Nkana) has lost one of its sponsors and there is also a change in management with a new chairman in place. The COVID-19 pandemic impact on the club is also being felt in terms of revenues,” said Bwana.

While Musa’s contract is already out, Bwana has confirmed that Shakava and Otieno still have running contracts with the Zambian side.

AFC Leopards’ aims to go full force for the KPL title next season and has started a rebuilding process geared towards that. The club plans to sign five new players.

“We have a couple of options on table, but we don’t want to focus on many additions. A maximum of three good players can give us the blend that we want to achieve our 72 plus one points tally next season. If we hit the mark, no doubt we can lift the title,” said Shikanda.
