Senegal and Guinea had to settle for a share of portion after playing to a goalless draw on Friday afternoon at Stade de Bafoussam.

Lions Teranga, Senegal, missed the services of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye and AC Milan’s Fode Ballo-Toure after testing positive for COVID-19 before the clash.

Both nations had secured wins in their opening games, but neither could a breakthrough and had to to settle for a point.

Malawi 2-1 Zimbabwe
The Flames of Malawi registered their first win in Group B after defeating Zimbabwe 2-1 on Friday evening.

The Warriors broke the deadlock in the 38th minute after a fine header from Ishmael Wadi courtesy of Bhasera’s cross.

The lead did not last as midfielder Mhango equalised for Malawi five minutes later, with his first goal of the campaign after netting home Francisco Madinga’s cross.

The Flames wrapped the turnaround on the hour mark when Mhango took advantage of Zimbabwe’s defence mix-up to run through on goal to set Gadadinho Mhango.

It was a contest which saw a host of Premier League-based stars on display as Gadadinho Mhango returned for Malawi alongside Richard Mbulu, while Onismor Bhasera and Gerald Takwara was in action for the Warriors.
