Kenya Premier League Side AFC Leopards will have to live with the fact that they will not be able to beat Kakamega Homeboyz next season and in the near future.
This is according to Kakamega Homeboyz Chairman Cleophas Shimanyula who has ruled out any possibility of Ingwe beating his side as long as he is the one calling the shots.
AFC Leopards and Kakamega Homeboyz will go head to head on September 1st with Ingwe out to end a long run without a win over Shimanyula’s boys.
“They [AFC Leopards] are like our women whom we have married and will not leave them soon. In the opening match, we want to win with a bigger margin talk of 4-0, 5-0 or if we get the least of goals it will be 3-0. So long as I am at Kakamega Homeboyz AFC Leopards will not beat us,” Said Shimanyula as quoted by Goal.
AFC Leopards last victory over Homeboyz came in March 2018.
On New Signings at Homeboyz, Shimanyula did not confirm any arrivals but promised to unveil new players when they come up against AFC Leopards.
The Club has been linked to the signing of Nzoia Sugar’s Stephen Etyang.
“We will unveil our players during our match against AFC Leopards,” he told Goal.
“Ingwe will be surprised on the line up we will field against them and we aim to beat them mercilessly then because I believe Kakamega Homeboyz will beat AFC Leopards as usual,” he concluded.
Shimanyula’s latest decre comes just a few weeks after Ingwe through Interim chairman Dan Shikanda reached out to former coach Sunday Kayuni who ‘cursed’ the club after he was unceremoniously fired back in 1998 after leading the Club to their last KPL title.
Kayuni claimed that Ingwe will never win the Kenya Premier League title, a fete they last achieved when he was the one incharge at the den.
