Premier League side Arsenal will trigger Thomas Partey’s £45m release clause in the coming days in a bid to land the Ghanaian midfielder. The gunners are on the hunt for a new midfielder with futures of Dani Ceballos and Lucas Torreira uncertain at the club.
Thomas Partey’s release clause will make his signing easy as no negotiations would be required. He would also be a top quality addition for Mikel Arteta as he continues with his rebuilding process at the Emirates.
Arsenal have financial concerns as a result of the coronavirus crisis and it is thought the global pandemic could limit their summer spending.
But Madrid-based publication La Razon claim the Gunners will pay the clause to bring Partey to the Emirates Stadium.
It is reportedly an ‘open secret’ that the 27-year-old will quit Madrid for London.
Atletico chiefs are on the hunt for a replacement and have identified three potential successors.
Fulham’s Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is on the target list after an impressive loan spell with Villarreal, as are Getafe’s Mauro Arambarri and Iddrisu Baba of Mallorca.
Arsenal have lost both of their games since the Premier League restart.
