Gunners Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ended speculation about his future by putting pen to paper on a 3-year contract worth around £250,000 a week. The announcement was made by the striker via a live instagram video on the club’s official page.

On signing, Auba said, “I’m really happy I’m staying with you guys – I’m really proud to be part of this family. Let’s move forward. We can enjoy and celebrate soon. Let’s go!”

The Gabonese captain has been in been sparkling since his move from Dortmund in January 2018. He has scored 71 goals in 108 appearances, a true mark of a deadly finisher in front of goal. He won the golden boot in the 2018/2019 season and is the fastest Arsenal player to reach 50 goals in the club’s history.

News of the contract is welcome news to hoards of Arsenal fans who were eager to see their club’s captain commit his future to the club.

Mikel Arteta is said to have played a key role in Aubameyang signing the deal after having several conversations with him about his project.
