Barcelona are reportedly eyeing former Chelsea forward Oscar Santos Jr switch following Philippe Coutinho Aston Villa departure.
Oscar,31, left Stamford Bridge in 2017 to jion Shanghai Port for around £60million and went on to lift the Chinese Super League in the following year.
However, according to reports, the Brazilian could be set for European return as the Catalans are said to be closely following his progress and could be tempted to land him at Nou Camp during this January transfer window.
Barcelona are already looking for Philippe Coutinho replacement after they axed the midfielder to join Premier League outfits Aston Villa on loan and completed his medicals on Tuesday.
According to Brazilian news outlet TNT, Barcelona have made contact with Oscar agent over a possible to the Nou Camp.
However, Barcelona face a huge task given the fact that Oscar is under contract in Shanghai until 2024.
Additionally, Barcelona on-going financial spree could block their quest to land the Brazilian this month.
Nevertheless, Xavi and Barca management are still looking to offload a number of players in a bid to level their spending between now and the end of the January transfer window.
Oscar has scored 34 goals and assisted 73 for the Chinese club since arriving in 2017 from Chelsea.
