Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana, as reported by The Athletic

.Leicester had rejected an improved offer from Chelsea for the 21-year-old Frenchman earlier this week but a breakthrough appears to have now been reached.Chelsea had previously made two offers for the French defender but both fell below Leicester’s valuation.Fofana was left out of Leicester’s squad by Brendan Rodgers for the 2-1 defeat by Southampton last Saturday after he asked not to play.Rodgers said prior to the match that Fofana had been left out because he was not “in the right frame of mind” to join his team-mates.

Fofana has played 37 Premier League matches since signing for Leicester from French side Saint-Etienne for £36.5million.
