Kenya captain Victor Wanyama is on his way to Club Brugge in Belgium from Tottenham Hotspurs. According to Sky Sports, Tottenham and Club Brugge have agreed fee of around £12m for the former Southampton Midfielder.

At Club Brugge, Wanyama will link up with another Africa Star, Percy Tau from South Africa. He is assured of Champions League football in Brugge with the club landing a tough group following a draw held in Monaco. The Belgian side will face Real Madrid, PSG and Galatasaray.

Wanyama is expected to sign a four year contract with Brugge after protracted negotiations came to a close on Thursday afternoon.

Wanyama, who had two years left on contract, had interest from Bologna, Monaco, Celtic and Valencia but Tottenham were refusing to loan out the Kenya international and only wanted a permanent sale.

Talks had also stalled over personal terms with Brugge offering a drop in salary despite him becoming their highest earner alongside Simon Mignolet.

Wanyama cost Tottenham a bargain £11m from Southampton and they have done well to make a profit though the fee entails an initial £9m up front with the rest in add ons.

The powerful midfielder has suffered with niggling knee injuries in recent seasons and dropped down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.
