Manchester United 3-1 victory over Brentford on Wednesday was not enough to calm Cristiano Ronaldo’s anger and temper, as the Portugal attacker reacted angrily after being subbed off minutes before full time.

Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood netted for the Red Devils to see the visitors run through Brentord and ended Rangnick’s side a run of two Premier League winless.

But for Ronaldo it was a different case after the 36-year-old openly fumed to Rangnick after he was taken off.

Ronaldo who has not featured for United since January 3 after picking a hip injury made his feeling known on the bench.

Mason Greenwood stretched United 2-0 lead after 70 minutes, but Rangnick decided to take Ronaldo out and brought in Harry Maguire to bolster his backline.

However, the German tactician decision did not go well with Ronaldo.

“Why me? Why me…Why would you take me off?” Ronaldo was seen to mutter before throwing his jacket to the floor.

Ronaldo’s frustration continued as he chose to sat alone on a step, before Rangnick came over to offer some words of comfort to world all-time record Men’s goal scorer.

Rangnick when asked about Ronaldo’s reaction after the game and he said: “It is normal as a striker, he wants to score goals but he has just come back from injury so it is important to have him for another game soon.

“I think it was the right decision and we scored the third goal. We conceded a goal but did not allow anything else.”

Since returning to Old Trafford, Ronaldo has been of more useful impact for United and mostly in the Champions League, where he scored six goals in five games and led the Red Devils to the Round of 16.
