Chelsea have completed the signing of English-born centre-back Ghanaian origin Travis Akomeah from Watford in a reported four-year deal, according to Daily Mirror.

The sensational youngster who was closely monitored by Liverpool and Bournemouth has sealed a long term deal with the Blues.

The 16-year-old full-back, who can also play as a central defender, is among the teenagers that are highly rated as the next Chelsea’s big names.

Akomeah was spotted at the Blues’ training facility in London on Monday and according to news outlets, the Ghanian international has inked already with the North London giants and only waiting for official announcement from the club in the coming days.

It is likely that Akomeah will join the youth team and later will be loaned out to gain exposure before coming back to fight for the first-team spot and has a future replacement to the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta Tanco whose time at Stamford Bridge still unclear.

Although, Akomeah has represented England at the youth level, the defender is still eligible to represent Ghana at the youth and senior national team level because of his parents.
