Sofapaka suffered a second successive league defeat after going down 3-0 when they faced Nairobi City Stars in a FKFPL match staged at the Ruaraka grounds.

Batoto Ba Mungu’s hopes of bouncing back from the Gor Mahia defeat last time out suffered a setback when they went behind in just three minutes.

City Stars scored from the penalty spot thanks to Peter Opiyo after a Sofapaka defender was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

David Agesa doubled Simba wa Nairobi’s lead in the 15th minute.

Sofapaka had an opportunity to pull one back from a penalty of their own only for Lawrence Juma to see his spot kick hit the bar despite beating the City Stars’ keeper Njuge.

That miss turned costly as Abdalah Shitu got a third goal for City Stars with a powerful header from a Bolton Omwenga cross.
