The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) will now resume on December 4 and not on November 27 as earlier planned.

According to reports, a number of club representatives who attended a meeting with the Football Kenya Federation caretaker committee on Wednesday at the Nyayo Stadium settled on the new date.

The Caretaker Committee earlier hinted that the topflight league would resume this weekend but this won’t be the case with the new development.

Upon resumption, fixtures will be followed as earlier planned with Ali Amir, a member of the FKF caretaker committee taking charge of the competitions department.

According to insiders that attended the meeting, the main reason as to why the resumption dates were changed was the hard stance taken by some match officials not to work with the caretaker committee.

The committee is however optimistic that an amicable solution will be found within the coming week to enable the resumption of the league.

Clubs that attended the meeting at Nyayo were: AFC Leopards SC, Bandari FC, Bidco United FC, Gor Mahia FC, Kakamega Homeboyz FC, Kenya Police FC, Mathare United FC, Nairobi City Stars FC, Nzoia Sugar FC, Posta Rangers FC, Sofapaka FC, Tusker FC, Wazito FC and Vihiga Bullets FC.

There was no representative from Ulinzi Stars and FC Talanta but the two clubs sent their apologies while nothing was heard from Kariobangi Sharks and KCB FC who also missed the meeting.
