Retired Harambee Stars striker, Dennis Oliech, has criticised the recent Football Kenya Federation [FKF] reforms by Sports Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohammed.

On Wednesday, November 17, Oliech questioned Amina’s logic that informed the appointment of the Caretaker Committee and the Secretariat to run the affairs of FKF on a temporary basis.

The former Stars attacker questioned why the CS did not appoint former players to the committee in order to bring back lost glory to the football industry in the country.

Dennis Oliech:”Let it be known that it’s not too late to engage former players and we are willing to uplift our football to the former glory that it once had. We have the passion, knowledge and experiencev to be part of the committee. Football is us. The choice is yours madam CS, the fans and footballers have suffered enough.”

He also touched on the recent statement made by Federation International de Football Assocciation {FIFA} which had demanded that the Sports Ministry either to reinstates all suspended FKF officials.

According to Oliech, FIFA was supposed to be the country’s saviour but ended up complicating the situation. He also noted that the Confederation of African Football {CAF}, which supported FIFA’s statement, did not make matters easier.

”In the recent past the football managing body inm Kenya has been through rough times, with the appointment of the committee by the sports CS made it even worse, hoping that FIFA would rescue us, it made things position.

The controversy sorrounding the suspended FKF president pictured above and the football fraternity has been on the limelight in the recent past. Mwendwa who is facing graft charges, was apprehended on Friday, November 12, in order to answer the charges.

After a court ruling delivered on Wednesday, November 17, the prosecution team was given seven days in order to prosecute Mwendwa or else close the graft case.
