Former Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche has been awarded shs103 Million by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

CAS has given the football Kenya Federation 30 days to pay the Adel his dues for what it termed as wrongful dismissal. Failure to pay Adel in 30 days will see National Team Harambee Stars barred from taking part in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Adel sued FKF following his sacking by the then Sam Nyamweya led administration.

The now Nick Mwendwa led federation has been trying to prove their case at the Switzerland based court but all that amounted to nothing as CAS delivered a verdict that greatly favoured Amrouche.

“We have received the demand letter from the lawyers and now the only thing we have to do is pay up. We have tried to delay it for the last four years but now the verdict from CAS is out, we just have to go through with it,” Said Mwendwa as quoted by Capital Sport.

“The lawyers had said they want the payment by 19th of this month but the law allows for 30 days from the day we received the letter, that is Tuesday October 1,” he added.

Mwendwa has revealed that the federation intends to honour the judgement delivered by CAS and will therefore engage the government in a bid to raise the required amount to pay Adel.

The football Chief has confirmed that it is in the federation’s plans to see Harambee Stars qualify for the world cup slated for Qatar and as such paying Adel Amrouche is inevitable.

“The government has known this all through and we have involved the from when we entered office. We will have to liaise with them to raise that amount,” Said Mwendwa.
