Harambee Stars and ex Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Ovella Ochieng has filled complaint against his former club Marumo Gallants to the world football governing body, FIFA after “unfair dismissal.”

After signing for Gallants in August 2021 from Swedish club Vasalund, Ovella was axed from the Polokwane-based outfit in January 2021 making no single appearance for them before joining Botswana side Township Rollers early this year.

According to South African publication, Soccer Laduma, the 22-year-old has now filled a case against Gallants at FIFA following his unlawful contract termination.

“It is true that Ovella Ochieng has taken his former club to FIFA for unfair dismissal and it is an ongoing matter.”

Gallants are not new to such unlawful player contract termination cases as in the year 2020 former Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez filed a case against them and transfer ban was next after they were found guilty.

Ovella signed a one-year contract deal with the South African giants when they were managed by former Harambee Stars tactician Sebastian Migne before he was sacked in October 2021 for insubordination and using abusive language towards the club’s Technical Director.
