Kenya Commercial Bank Football Club [KCB FC] have acquired the services of talented FC Talanta forward Francis Kahiro in a season-long deal.

The 2020/21 FKF Premier League runner up snatched Kahiro’s signature after terminating his contract with Talanta. The forward was in the radar of a couple of Kenyan top flight clubs after impressive 2021/22 season as he netted nine goals and assisted others in his first appearance in top flight league football.

According to reports, four-time Kenya Premier League champions Ulinzi Stars, the 2009 league champions Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks were some of the clubs were hoping to land forward’s signature.

Kahiro was also in the radar of newly-promoted Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Big Stars who have already signed Kenyan duo Duke Abuya from Kenya Police FC and former Kariobangi Sharks forward Harrison Mwendwa from Nkana FC.

“I have signed a year-long deal with KCB who had been trailing me for some time. I had a couple of offers from other local clubs but the prospect of playing under Zedekiah Otieno attracted me to KCB,” he said as quoted by Mozzart Sport.

The 23-year-old joined FC Talanta in 2019 but was handed the role of kit manager after his registration failed at a time when the transfer had been shut down in the last hour.
