Ghanian giants Asante Kotoko have confirmed the capture of Kariobangi Sharks and Ugandan Striker George Abege.
Abege who was part of the Sharks team that saw off EPL side Everton at the Kasarani Stadium has signed a deal expected to run until July 2022.
Abege first caught the attention of the Asante Kotoko technical bench during their CAF confederations clash with Kariobangi Sharks.
Kotoko were able to see off Sharks 2-1 on aggregate after a barren draw in the first leg played in Kasarani, Nairobi.
His contract with Sharks had run down and as such the Porcupines from Ghana moved with speed to bring him to Kumasi, Ghana.
According to Kotoko, Abege’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) has reached them and he is therefore expected to join his colleagues this week.
Asante Kotoko are out to rebuild their side ahead of next season’s CAF Champions League Campaign following their run in the Confederations Cup last season.
The Club has set it’s sights for at least, a berth in the group stage of the Champions League.
Abege’s great aerial abilities, ball control and predatory skills make him a striker to be feared by opponents and it is this fear factor he instill’s on defenders that drove Kotoko to secure his services.
