Gor Mahia fans will be able to watch Saturday’s CAF Champions League crunch tie against Rwanda giants APR on KBC, the club has announced.
The match kicks off at 4PM in an empty Nyayo National Stadium. No fans will be allowed into the facility as part of the measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
K’ogallo will be hoping to overturn a 1-2 defeat they suffered in the reverse fixture in Kigali last weekend. With an away goal, Gor need a simple 1-0 win to qualify for the next round.
But that is easier said than done, as their rivals arrived in the country on Wednesday evening, more than 72 hours before the match.
The team, led by former Gor Mahia marksman Jacques Tuyisenge, will have a feel of the Nyayo stadium on Friday.
This is different from how Gor prepared for the first leg fixture. The team arrived in Rwanda on Friday, just a day before the match. They were forced into a mandatory 24-hour quarantine, meaning they only left their hotel room on match day.
They only had a feel of the stadium when warming up for the match. Could this have affected their performance and will APR’s early arrival be advantagious?
