Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia left the country on Friday for Kinshasa, Congo ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup second leg clash against DC Motema Pembe.
The champions donned Patriot Gin Vodka T-shirts and caps with their (Gor) Logo also clearly visible.
Kogallo recently got into a five year partnership with Patriot Gin, a deal that will see Gor get Ksh5 for every Patriot bottle sold. The club also got Ksh2 million from Patriot as an act of good faith ahead of their clash with DC Motema.
Gor will be looking to break into the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup with the tie against Motema currently tied at 1-1.
Since the CAF Confederations Cup playoffs system was introduced two seasons ago, Gor Mahia have not failed at this stage. Kogallo saw off South African side Supersport United in 2018 & Cameroon’s New Star Doula in 2019.
Gor Mahia have progressed through to next round of CAF competitions after drawing or losing first leg home encounters 5 out of 11 times.
Will the team be lucky in Congo?
The return leg is set for Sunday, November 3.
