Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have on Tuesday landed in Cairo Egypt ahead of their upcoming international friendly against Al Hilal Benghazi of Libya.

The team landed safely in Cairo at around 12.00PM, Tuesday Kenyan time and was received by their hosts Al Hilal after which it checked into the Radisson Blu Hotel.

According to Gor Mahia’s social media handles, the team will depart to Alexandria tomorrow en route to Benghazi (Libya).

It will hold a training session for 3 days before the friendly match against Al Hilal SC.

Coach Steven Polack named his squad for the international assignment with Kogallo forced to make do without the services of captain Kenneth Muguna and his assistant Joash Onyango.

Also, not available is midfield maestro Lawrence Juma with the trio committed to national team duties with Harambee Star ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Egypt.

Goal keeper David Mapigano is also another notable absentee with the former Singida United man earning a call up with Tanzania ahead of their AFCON qualifier against Equatorial Guinea on Friday.

Gor Mahia will be looking to take their Mashemeji Derby form into the friendly as the team aims to build more momentum even as the race for the Kenya Premier League title hot’s up.

Last week saw Gor Mahia suffer its first League loss of the season at the hands of Mathare United but the team responded so well when they faced Ingwe on Sunday with a 4-1 win.

Ivorian Import Yikpe Gnamien grabbed a brace with Clifton Miheso and Lawrence Juma adding two more goals in the second half.

Gor Mahia and Al Hilal will face off on Saturday, 16 in the City of Benghazi.
