Kenyan Premier League side, Gor Mahia has confirmed midfielder Kenneth Muguna as their new captain ahead of 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League campaign.

Muguna takes over from Harun Shakava who recently quit the club for Zambian giants Nkana Red Devils. Shakava had served as captain for two seasons after replacing Musa Mohamed at the begging of the 2018 season.

Muguna will be deputized by Harambee Stars defender Joash Onyango, the two are former Western Stima players. The former FK Tirana man’s first assignment as captain will be on Sunday when Gor Mahia plays Burundian side, Aigle Noir CS in a Caf Champions League match away in Burundi.

The club can confirm that Kenneth Muguna is the new club captain taking over from Harun Shakava who has since left the club to join Nkana FC of Zambia.

Muguna is in his second stint at the club. He first joined the club from Western Stima in 2017.
He then had a brief stint at FC Tirana in Albania. Muguna was to return back to Gor Mahia at the start of the 2018/19 season where the former Palos FC man was a mainstay at the heart of midfield. He will be deputized by Central Defender Joash Onyango. Onyango was Muguna’s teammate and Captain during their days at Western Stima FC.
