Defending Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have now shifted their attention to their upcoming KPL Match against Millers Nzoia Sugar.
Kogallo who were on Sunday bundled out of the CAF Champions League by Algerian giants USM Alger are out to make amends when they go head to head with the Millers in Mumias.
Gor Mahia lost 6-1 on aggregate to USM Alger, a result that saw the record time Kenyan Champions relegated to the CAF Confederations Cup.
The Steven Pollack led side are however a different side when it comes to local competitions and are the favourites heading into the Nzoia Sugar Clash. Gor have won their first two League games scoring 7 goals in the process.
Millers Nzoia Sugar have won one, drawn one and lost one in their first three KPL games. They will be looking to inflict another defeat on Gor Mahia who they also beat last season. It was their first win against K’Ogallo having suffered five straight defeats prior to that meeting.
A win against Nzoia Sugar will see Gor Mahia move to the top of the KPL Standings with one game at hand having seen their match against Chemelil Sugar postponed due to a confusion in the change of Venue.
Power Men Western Stima top the League Standings with 8 Points. Gor Mahia’s fierce rivals AFC Leopards are second on 7 Points while Nzoia Sugar are 12th on 4 Points.
The Nzoia Vs Gor Mahia Game will be staged at the Mumias Sports Complex from 3 PM on Wednesday.
