Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have released their travel itinerary and squad ahead of their CAF Champions League Clash against Algerian side USM Alger.

There were fears that Kogallo would not honour the fixture due to tough financial times that have currently engulfed the club. This is after the Club’s fundraiser to raise funds to help facilitate the trip to North Africa ‘flopped’ with the Club raising a paltry 1.5 Million Shillings according to sources.

Gor have now confirmed through their official social media handles that the team will leave for Algeria on Thursday.

“Gor Mahia will be hitting the run-way to Algeria tomorrow (Thursday) at midnight aboard Qatar Airways. The team will be facing USM Alger in a CAF Champions League match on Saturday from 7pm EAT. All the best team,” Read a Statement by Gor Mahia.

The travelling squad for the USM Alger assignment has also been revealed with Captain Kenneth Muguna leading coach Steven Pollack’s Charges.

Should they go past USM and qualify for the CAF Champion League group stage, K’Ogalo will become the first team to achieve the feat that comes with heavy financial gain.

Gor qualified for CAF Champions League first round after beating Burundian side, Aigle Noir in the preliminary round. In USM Alger they face a side that’s equally grappling with financial problems. The team hasn’t paid players for six months after their accounts were frozen by the government.
