Gor Mahia head coach Steven Polack has appointed Joachim Oluoch as the team’s interim captain as the record time Kenyan Champions prepare to take on Kariobangi Sharks. The two teams will square it out at the Afraha Stadium in a high profile KPL Match that will see Gor go out to extend it’s lead at the top while Sharks are out to inflict a first defeat of the season on the Champions.

Things are not so rosy at the Gor Mahia Camp with Captain Kenneth Muguna and his assistant, 2019 KPL MVP Joash Onyango all missing from the picture. The duo have not returned to the team since the international break with reports rife that they are protesting the delay in their salaries.

Commenting on the duo’s wherebouts, a seemingly angry coach Polack confirmed that he has not seen the two since their last appearance for Harambee Stars.

“My team captains have not been here since the international game they played for Kenya,” Said Polack told as quoted by Goal.

“They have never been in training since they featured for Kenya against Mozambique, I haven’t seen them, nobody has seen them and we don’t know what the problem is.”

“I am very disappointed with their behaviours being the leaders of the team but what can we do, I have 25 players whom I can work with and I don’t have any problems at all.”

Gor Mahia will also miss the services of Striker Nicholas Kipkirui who has stiches on his head.

The former Zoo FC man returned to training on Saturday but will not take part in the Sharks Clash due to his latest injury.

“We have Nicholas Kipkirui, the Striker, he returned to training on Saturday but he won’t play any part because he got some stitches on the head, It is a different injury from the one he got a the Zoo Match. He got a scar on the head which required stitches so he won’t be involved,” Confirmed Coach Polack.

The Gor-Sharks game will start at 4.00 PM, October 20.
