Bandari FC and Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo has joined Tanzanian giants Young Africans better known as Yanga.
Farouk finally sealed a deal to join the Tanzanian top side after signing a contract in Cairo where he is currently based with the Kenya National Team as they take part in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Yanga have been chasing the services of Shikalo since 2018 and his capture will come as a great relief for the Dar es Salaam based side as they aim to end the recent dominance of Simba SC, last season’s League winners.
Shikalo has been impressive in the local league and this is the major reason Tanzania’s most successful club sort his services.
He has also featured for Muhoroni Youth, Posta Rangers and FC Talanta.
Shikalo has on his part previously admitted that he wouldn’t mind shifting base to Tanzania to join Yanga.
“I am told Yanga officials called my employer and asked to know about my situation. These reports really made me happy. I wouldn’t mind trying out in the Tanzanian league because I have watched some of the games over there and they are very competitive,” said Shikalo back in December 2018.
Apart from Shikalo, Yanga have also signed Defender Ally Mtoni Sonso from Lipuli FC
