Wazito FC played out a 1-1 draw with KCB in a Pre Season friendly played on Friday afternoon at the Gems Cambridge International School.

The match was a highly entertaining affair with both teams displaying good attacking intents early on. KCB had the first real chance of the match when Stephen Waruru’s cross from the left was met by Enock Agwanda but his one time shot was well wide over the mark.

Wazito awoke from their slumber and threatened the KCB goal with a series of corners midway through the first half. As fate would have it, it was one of those corners that led to the opening goal.

Karim Nizigiyimana swung a good ball which was met by Mathews Odongo and his heder flew in to give Waziot a 1-0 lead. Steven Rupia almost added to Wazito’s advantage but his shot from outside the area following a poor back pass from KCB whisked just wide.

KCB midfielder Nicodemas Onyango was sent off early in the second half for a dangerous high footed challenge on Derrick Otanga.

With time running out, KCB was afforded a lifeline when Bernard Ochieng fouled Simon Abuko in the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Dennis Odhiambo stepped up and made no mistake to level the scores at 1-1.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw which was truly deserving based on the two team’s performances.
