Kenyan International Antony Akumu will sit out of Zesco United’s CAF Champions League Preliminary Round Clash against Green Mamba of Eswatini set for the 10th of August.

The midfield maestro has been left out of Zesco United’s Champions League Squad due to a reported groin injury.

Kenyan duo of David Owino “Calabar” and Jesse Were have however made the cut.

Former Sofapaka Striker Umaru Kasumba has also made the cut.

The Ugandan scored 17 goals for the 2008 KPL champions and was third on the top scorers’ chart behind Enosh Ochieng and Allan Wanga.

He is expected to vie for starting places with Were, who has established himself as a centre-forward for the Ndola-based outfit.

Last Month saw Kenyan striker and club all-time top goalscorer Jesse Jackson Were picked up the top scorers while compatriot Anthony Akumu was named the Most Improved Player of the Year during Zesco United’s Awards Gala.
