The future of Kenya’s Ayub Timbe Masika at Championship side Reading FC remains uncertain.

Masika signed for Reading on a six months’ loan deal from Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe with his deal expiring on June 30. The speedy winger has been part of Reading FC’s pre-restart games and warm-ups but no new deal has been put on the table for him.

Apart from Masika, Garath McCleary and Matt Miazga also face uncertain futures at the club for different reasons.

McCleary’s contract runs out on Tuesday, June 30. The same case applies to Matt Miazga who is on loan from Chelsea.

According to getreading.co.uk, the club is holding talks with players who are out of contract and on loan and expect some announcements in the coming weeks about short-term deals being signed.

Reading manager Manager Mark Bowen has said he wants to have as many options as possible going into the final weeks of the season to boost the side’s chances of success and having players like McCleary, Masika and Miazga around gives him just that.

Timbe was in action for the Championship club side as they went down 1-0 in a friendly match against EPL side Chelsea. He also provided an assist as his team beat League One side Portsmouth in another Pre-restart friendly.
