AFC Leopards’ assistant coach Tom Juma has come out to assure the club’s supporters that everything is in total control ahead of the new season.
Speaking to Citizen, Juma called on Ingwe fans to remain calm despite the lack of any meaningful transfer activity at the den.
Leopards are yet to announce the signing of any new player but have witnessed a massive exit of players in the past few weeks.
Hansel Ochieng, Robinson Kamura and Austin Odhiambo are some of the players that have cut ties with the club.
The club’s head coach, Patrick Aussems is yet to return with many questioning whether he will take charge of the team come Sunday.
The fears have now been put to bed by Juma who has revealed that the Belgian tactician will return to take charge of the team on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Juma also made it clear that the main target of Leopards heading into the new season is to perform and win silverware.
“Just as I had shared with you last time, we are sure he will be flying in this week and therefore by Wednesday he will be in here with us,” Juma told Citizen Digital on Monday.
“There are teams that you will never hear them say, let’s now play this season to finish fourth or just be in the mid-table positions. Teams like Gor Mahia, AFC (Leopards) their targets will forever remain the same year in year out, to win silverware,” said Juma.
“Have you ever seen at the beginning of the season our rivals Gor Mahia declaring that let us just settle for the mid-table slots?”
Leopards begin their league campaign with a high profile match against champions Tusker FC on Sunday.
